The 2026 Rock Lodge Gasshuku once again delivered an unforgettable weekend of adventure, learning, and karate spirit!
The weekend began on Friday evening with a meaningful time of reflection on Prayer Mountain before the excitement unfolded. Karateka learned essential survival skills, including finding water, navigating in the wilderness, making fire without matches, and snake awareness and first aid. Saturday was packed with energy—from an early morning run and 1,000 punches, blocks, and kicks to a challenging obstacle course that tested courage, endurance, leadership, and teamwork. The afternoon saw karateka successfully making their own fires to toast marshmallows, while the evening's Gasshuku Concert showcased incredible talent through singing, dancing, karate and Kobudo demonstrations, music, drama, and much more.
The weekend concluded on Sunday with breakfast, a debriefing session, and many tired but inspired karateka returning home with unforgettable memories, stronger friendships, and renewed confidence.
It was truly an honour and a pleasure to spend the weekend with your children at the Rock Lodge Gasshuku. They are an incredible group of young karateka, and each one of them made the camp a memorable experience with their enthusiasm, determination, respect, and team spirit.
As a small token of our appreciation, we've put together this short video and song to capture some of the special moments we shared. Thank you for trusting us and for giving your children the opportunity to experience this unforgettable weekend.
We hope these memories will stay with them for many years to come.
Thank you!
